Corporate Board President – Aaron Bernstein

Aaron Bernstein is Corporate Board President of HOBY Maryland, having served in the role since 2015, and with the board since 2001. He has been actively involved with HOBY since being an ambassador to HOBY Maryland from Rockville HS in 1996. Since that time, Aaron has served in just about every role at the state level, from Team Alumni to Facilitator to Director, and served in the role of Seminar Chair from 2009-2013. Aaron has also volunteered at a number of other local seminars, as well as served in the past as a Regional Project Director, member of the Field Operations and Program committee, and chair of the former Advanced Leadership Academy. He was recognized by HOBY International as a National Volunteer of the Year in 2011.

Professionally, Aaron is an Assistant Principal at Montgomery Blair High School as part of Montgomery County Public Schools. He earned two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park, a Master’s in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Hood College.

When Aaron is not volunteering with HOBY, he enjoys running, cooking, watching ice hockey, traveling, as well as spending time with his wife and their cat. His favorite part of HOBY is how it encourages participants to see their full potential to make a difference in this world.
