Mia Kimboko, Corporate Board Trustee

Mia Kimboko is a professional school counselor based in Washington, D.C. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Culture and Latin American Studies from Fordham University, where her passion for diversity and global perspectives first took root. This passion continues to shape her counseling approach, using cultural awareness as a bridge for connection, empathy, and personal development.

She earned her master’s degree in School Counseling from the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at The George Washington University, equipping her with the skills and insight to support students academically, socially, and emotionally. Currently working in Prince George’s County, she is committed to fostering inclusive environments where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered.

With a deep belief in the power of education and community engagement, Mia encourages students to not only pursue their goals but also to understand the value of giving back. Her work is grounded in equity, cultural competence, and a sincere desire to help young people navigate challenges, celebrate their identities, and thrive both in and outside the classroom.
