Emily Prechtl, Director of Marketing & Communications

Emily Prechtl is the Director of Marketing & Communications for HOBY Maryland, and recently completed five years as the Director of Multimedia on the Seminar Planning Committee. Emily has been volunteering with HOBY MD since her own experience as an Ambassador in 2014. Professionally, Emily works in operations at Construct Capital, a venture capital firm investing in startups rebuilding Foundational Industries of the U.S. economy, such as manufacturing and supply chain logistics. She previously served as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar to Kosovo from 2021-2022, teaching English and photography at the University of Prishtina and in several humanitarian NGOs throughout the country.

Emily graduated from Wellesley College in 2020 with a degree in Peace & Justice Studies and Anthropology. She also holds a certificate in venture finance and a certificate in digital marketing & storytelling. In her free time, you can find her writing fiction, shooting rolls of film, rock climbing, or playing board games with her boyfriend in Rockville.
